Stress
Level Chart |
|
| We have fielded
some questions regarding a motorcycle tire stress level versus an aircraft tire stress level, and if an aircraft tire
only goes straight that it would not be a true testament to a motorcycle
product durability in a situation like a racetrack with cornering, etc.. If you view the chart above, you can see that producing an aircraft
tire that stays together while touching down at speeds up to 190
MPH from a complete standstill and absorbing a load of 50,000 lbs. all
at the same instance is not too shabby of an accomplishment.
Not to say that
motorcycle tires are easy, but motorcycle tires are only 4 ply, versus an aircraft tire which are made up to 34 ply and
run substantially hotter than a motorcycle tire. |
